This time last year I found out that my beautiful daughter Lottee had been struggling to cope with changes in our lives and was
having difficulties in her relationship with her Dad. Unknown to me she had been cutting herself to release the emotional pain and to express the split she had grown up witnessing between her father and I. As a Mum I was filled with guilt and despair, I felt
powerless for a while and at a loss as to how to help.
After 8 months of hypnotherapy with Elaine Dunsten of Blissful Mind, wonderful guidance from Karta Singh and Jap Singh from The Kundalini Yoga school Amritnam Sarovar, and with support from the local hospital's mental health team, Lottee has been able to bring the cutting into remission. However she is still working through her anger and for now is choosing to keep her Dad out of her life. And so the journey of healing is still in progress.
Lottee's experience has served to open my eyes to the self-destructive behaviour many of our children and young adults are turning to. From cutting and eating disorders, to drug use and alcoholism, these desperate methods of release, control and relief are on an increase in many countries.
I have been put in touch with an amazing lady, Loesje Jacob, who runs a project for teenagers like Lottee. Loesje gathers the
teens together in Indonesia, teaches them a healing modality called Bodytalk, and then takes them into the orphanages to share the
modality with the orphans. Lottee and I have the opportunity to join the team in Indonesia in February 2012 for a potentially life changing experience. We would very much like to do this and would truly appreciate any support offered to help make it
happen.
I am looking to raise a minimum of £4000 to put towards the overall cost of the Indonesian adventure and am turning to you
wonderful people for assistance. If just 80 willing individuals would give a little of their time and effort to raise £50 each then we can easily reach the target. IF we happen to raise even more than the target amount, the extra money will be used to create another "Youth helping Youth" project. My vision is to ultimately have teams able to go into schools and communities to teach our youngsters how to support themselves and others through the challenges they face in today's chaotic world.
Please help in whatever way you can. My love, gratitude and blessings
